CAT Ski Clinic this Saturday, October 16

Dale Niggeman, inventor of the CATSKI, will be conducting a clinic at Hayward Hatchery County Park in Hayward on Saturday, Oct. 16th
from 11 a.m. — 1 p.m.

For a mere $15, curious skiers can try the novel training device between 11 a.m. — 1 p.m. on the ski trail. Dale has years of coaching experience and ski instruction and will have CATSKIS and boots and poles to demo.

CATSKIS are a safe alternative to rollerskiing. The Hatchery trails and nearby Birkie trail are short grass with hills, a scenic and fun locale to try this new sport. CATSKIING may be closer to cross country skiing than any other dryland option.

24 Hours of Telemark Canceled for 2011

Due to the closing of Telemark Resort in May, the 2011 24 Hours of Telemark, scheduled for January 8-9, 2011 has been canceled. Event coordinator Harry Spehar commented, "It would be impossible to hold a 24 hour event in the middle of the Wisconsin winter without the use of a trail side lodge." But he suggested that 24 regulars check into one of the other Nordic events going on in the region that weekend.

Spehar added, "Hopefully in the future, we can hold this unique event again and we want to thank all those who have participated over the past 10 years; it’s been a lot of fun."
